shared value awards night

GSM wins 2018 Shared Value Award for Speckle

Good Shepherd Microfinance was nominated in two categories at the 2018 Shared Value Awards for the innovation of Speckle. The finalists were chosen as a result of demonstrating where shared value has been, or is being, adopted and embedded as part of the organisation’s broader strategy.

The two categories were ‘Shared value project by an organisation or collaboration’ and ‘Civil society leading through shared value’.

Whilst another deserving winner took home the collaboration category, Christine Nixon proudly accepted the award as Speckle was declared the winner of the ‘Civil society leading through shared value’ for 2018. A fantastic achievement and deserved recognition for the hard work the team has put in since Speckle’s launch.

The Speckle team have also referred over 650 clients to other services (NILS/Financial Counseling) so far.

Congratulations to the Speckle team and everyone involved, and may we continue to assist in the financial inclusion of more people for many years to come.

Good Design Award

The Speckle product and its website have collected a Good Design Australia Award for 2018 in the Social Impact category. Good Shepherd Microfinance and NAB invited Today to help develop a first-of-its-kind: an ethical short term loan for those experiencing financial stress that looks to improve their financial well being, rather than preying on their disadvantage.
